Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 48 miles north of Denver, the elevation is 5,030. Called The Garden Spot, the town of Berthoud has a population of just over 10,000.   Founded in 1858, Berthoud has a long history of ranching and farming. These days, the town is best known for its quaint downtown, which is lined with shops and restaurants. The Berthoud community is also active in the arts, and there are several galleries and performance venues in town.
